Simple Yet Elegant Winter Card

Sharing a simple yet elegant winter card that can be used for a number of occasions . . . a winter birthday, thinking of you, get well, attached to a gift or with a gift card . . . you name it!  Furthermore, elegant does not have to be complicated or fussy!

Because the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper has just the right amount of glitz, a lot of additional fussing is not necessary to make a card look special!  While all I added was a foil snowflake (from from the Seasonal Layers Thinits) and a little ribbon, it was enough to catch the eye and make my card look fancy!

Sharing a quick & easy winter card that can be used for any occasion! Features the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper, sentiment from the Hug in a Mug stamp set, and snowflake die cut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. Dimensions & Directions for Simple Yet Elegant Winter Card:

  • Whisper White cardstock . . . 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, folded for card base
  • Smoky Slate cardstock for mat . . . 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″
  • Whisper White layer . . . 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper (snowflake print) . . . 3″ x 3″ (I intentionally cut it to this size so I can get 16 from one 12 x 12 sheet)
    • Adhere printed paper to one end of Whisper White layer
      • 4-1/2″ Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon . . . wrap ends around white layer at top of printed paper, attach ends to back
      • Stamp sentiment in top right corner with Smoky Slate Ink
    • Adhere Whisper White layer to Smoky Slate mat
    • Adhere mat to card front with Dimensionals
  • Silver Foil Sheet . . . scrap large enough for largest snowflake in the Seasonal Layers Thinlits
    • Use the Big Shot to cut out with snowflake thinlit
    • Adhere snowflake to left side of sentiment with Liquid Glue
    • Add rhinestone to center of snowflake
  • Finally, stamp your desired inside sentiment with Smoky Slate Ink and it’s ready to send

How easy was that!  I’m looking forward to making many more of these!
