Chemo Round 3 Leads to An Amazing Mother’s Day . . . Plus A Beautiful Gift Idea!

It's difficult to know where to begin today!  So many incredible things have happened in a short amount of time!  I'll start with my third round of chemo, which happened last Thursday.  I was feeling really good going into it and after visiting with my oncologist, she's already noticed a difference in the lump in my breast! How amazing is that . . . after only 2 treatments!  I can only give the credit and glory to God!  Thank you so much to all of you that are praying for me! I feel the results of your prayers each and every day!  The side effects from the chemo have been minimal and I have been able to do most things that I usually do (all be it at a bit slower pace)!

I nearly forgot to get a photo . . . here I am with my friend, Carol, at the end of chemo!  I love taking a friend with me and am so thankful for the time we get to spend together!  If you are facing chemo in the future . . . accept all the help and offers that come your way!  Others do want to bless you and they in turn are blessed!

Chemo Day 1

P.S.  I'm really loving my hat collection and only needing 5 minutes to get ready!  It may become a longtime trend . . . just stayin'!

Late Friday afternoon, I was visiting with fellow demonstrator and friend, Terri Gaines.  During that conversation, I learned that she was driving to Fargo, ND, the next day . . . just for the day.  It didn't take but a short visit with my hubby, and a quick call back to Terri to ask if she'd like company on her drive . . . to which she replied  . . . "and I could take you to see your mom?"  We were both thinking the same thing!  Within a few minutes this trip was arranged . . . and no, I do not think it coincidence!  It was totally a blessing and gift from my Lord!  My mom has not seen me since my diagnosis and I just knew in my heart how important it would be for her to see me in the flesh and to see that I was doing well.  It was such a sweet reunion!  I was able to deliver her Mother's Day greeting in person and give her tons of hugs and love!

Mom & Me

Lisa, Mom, Me

With the trip being planned so quickly, I didn't know if I would get to see other family members or not, but I was blessed to get to see my cousin-in-law, Lisa, who graciously picked us up and took us to lunch and a little shopping, followed by mom's choice . . . ice cream!  I'm still pinching myself that this all happened so quickly!

The ride to Fargo flew by as Terri and I chatted and worked on plans for an upcoming stamping event that we collaborate on . . . our time was just sweet!  As if what had already transpired wasn't enough, we got to stop and visit two more of my favorite demonstrators!  Sandy Carlson in Moorehead and Patsy Waggoner in Alexandria!  My heart was so full at the end of the day that I thought it would burst!  I'm so amazed at how God continues to shower me with love by using others as His hands and feet!

This trip to see my mom and opportunity to spend time withe these special friends was an over the top blessing to me!  I will cherish that day in my heart forever!  Thank you, Terri, for taking such good care of me and chauffeuring me to and from the Twin Cities to West Fargo, ND!

That's not all . . . many years I miss Mother's Day travelling home that day from Fargo, but this year I got to have a full day of Mother's Day with my other family, too!  The only way it would have been any better was to have Matt with us. (We did get to have a nice visit on the phone, that visit will come in June!  Can't wait!)

I also was blessed to feel up to traveling to Wisconsin to spend the afternoon with some of my other favorite and most important women in my life . . . my Mother-in-law, sis-in-laws, and neice!

Even before the entire weekend transpired, I returned home on Wednesday evening to find a pretty gift bag with this amazing gift inside waiting on my bench for me!  It was created by my friend, Brigid Danneker!  Isn't it amazing!  She used the Botanicals Framelits, the Feel Goods stamp set, Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly Punches to create the beautiful art and framed it in a shadow box frame.  She chose colors that will look beautiful in my living room!  I have always loved the saying in that stamp and actually have a t-shirt that says that same thing!  I must keep believing . . . it's not me that will get me through this, but my Heavenly Father, who knows and sees and works on my behalf.
