ALOHA! Welcome to the Hawaii Grand Vacation Blog Hop . . . of which I'm thrilled to be a part! You may have just arrived from Selene Kempton's blog!
I'm even more thrilled about the fun card I created for it! I have to admit that the task was daunting at first . . . I had no stamps, tools, punches, nada . . . that spoke "Hawaiian" to me! That meant I had to do some thinking! Oh no!
The first thought that came to me was surfboard . . . the second was lei. Here's the combination of my two thoughts!
The background paper is from the Birthday Bash Specialty Paper. A piece of this print was sitting on my crafting table while I was in the "creating" stage of this card. It spoke "Hawaiian" to me and became the background and inspiration for my color combination! Gotta love Stampin' Up! papers!
Bet you're wondering what I used to make that surfboard? It's a Word Bubble Framelit with the little arrow cut off! The center "decal" is a piece of Retro Fresh Washi Tape!
The flowers for the lei are made with the little flower punch in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I simply snipped in between the petals just a bit and then folded each petal over my finger nail and scrunched! They're attached to a piece of Linen Thread with Tombo Liquid Glue.
The top and bottom of the fence are punched with the Triangle Punch! Be sure to scroll all the way down to find a supplies list!
You'll for sure want to take the entire tour! Tons of talented demonstrators from all over the WORLD . . . and I get to vacation with them in Hawaii in May! Pinch me!
Next stop is Linda Higgins blog!
