Today I'm sharing the evolution of one of my ideas!
It all began with this box project that was on of our make and take projects from convention. It also just happens to be a sneak peek from the NEW Holiday Catalog, which is due to be in your mailbox mid-August. As a Stampin' Up! convention attendee, I not only received the new Holiday Catalog early, I also got to shop early!
The box is one of the new Take Out Boxes and the lovely stamp is from the new Seasonally Scattered stamp set, which was also one of the goodies in our convention bags.
Okay, now it's true confessions time. . . I didn't make it while at convention! For those of you that know me, you know that I call the projects at Stampin' Up! events, "take and talks"! There are far too many people there to catch up with. . . I can always stamp at home! So that's what I did. . . stamp after I returned home. Having just a photo of the completed project and no instructions, I had to figure it out!
Here's how I figured they got two colors on the stamped image:
- Ink the entire stamp with Hello Honey Ink. (I turned the stamp over so the rubber side is facing up, then ink it while holding the stamp pad in my hand. . . kind of backwards, but it works better with a large stamp and for your next step.)
- Next, ink a sponge dauber with Tangelo Twist Ink and daub over the center of the already inked stamp.
- Finally, stamp onto your cardstock. Voila!
Isn't it a great look?
You can't see the cute accent so well in the photo above (however, you can see it really well in the photo that follows) . . . but I had no idea how to create that little leaf/feather looking accent tied to the tag. This took a lot more ingenuity to figure out!
. . . and I was quite pleased with myself when I did! It appeard to be about the size of our Oval Punch, so that's what I used to punch the leaf/feather. . . I'm still not sure what to call it, but I like it! I then freehand cut one edge so that it was no longer symmetrical. I used one of the points of the tiny star punch that's in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to make the notches and my Paper Snips to snip more small cuts into the edges of my leaf/feather. Please tell me. . .is it a leaf or a feather?
Of course, this list in incomplete, since I can't post the specifics of the products from the Holiday Catalog quite yet, but I didn't think you'd mind getting a sneak peek!
If you don't have a demonstrator and would like to receive a Holiday Catalog (or our annual catalog for that matter), please let me know! I'd love to send one to you!
Like something you see here? You can shop with me online 24/7! (. . . when you do, please select "allow demonstrator to contact me" so I can thank you!)
Thanks for stopping by today!
